Let me put a counter-balance to one of your thoughts. Beware of the sweet treat. I am exactly twice your age and I have been diabetic for 20 years now. I still eat sugar but I live in fear of the blood sugar reading each morning. I take a pharmacy full of medications. They work but I wonder about the iatrogenic consequences. At least where I live the government pays for the drugs.

I completely agree with you! Which is why i also mentioned that it shouldn't take control of you. I do enjoy a sweet treat here and there but I make sure to work out and have a balanced diet as well. Thank you for sharing your experience...I'm sure a lot of people need awareness about this.

Great list - I plan to share the link in my newsletter. I also did such a list ... at 50! The point you make about us basically knowing nothing really is a good one.

I so agree with the one about always learning. I'm like that too, I'm always enrolling in courses and classes and learning a new skill. I love it, it keeps me going and keeps the brain young! Also, happy belated birthday 🎂

Your reflections on forgiveness and letting go of past hurts are incredibly powerful. It's a reminder that holding onto anger and resentment only weighs us down. Your journey towards self-forgiveness and releasing the need to control is a testament to the strength that comes from embracing vulnerability. Thank you for sharing your experience – it's a reminder that forgiveness is a gift we give ourselves, freeing us to move forward with lightness and peace.

Happy birthday 🥳

Thank you so much for your thoughtful words. Forgiveness, especially self-forgiveness, is indeed a challenging but deeply freeing process. It’s amazing how much lighter we can feel when we let go of anger and resentment, and it really does open the door to more peace and clarity in our lives. I’m glad that my reflections resonated with you—it’s comforting to know we’re not alone in these journeys. And thank you so much for the birthday wishes as well!

I like how 'everything happens for a reason' and 'finding a bigger purpose is overrated' kind of cover each other's blind spots.
